Image Compressor
Make photos and images smaller for websites, emails, blogs and online stores. Compress, resize and convert JPG, PNG and WebP images, several at once. It's free, with no sign-up and no watermark, and your images never leave your device because everything happens in your browser.
💡 How to use this tool
- Choose one or more images.
- Pick a quality level and, if you like, a maximum width.
- Choose the format: WebP is smallest, JPG works everywhere, PNG keeps transparency.
- Click Compress images, then download each one or all of them.
Tip: for websites and blogs, 1280 px wide at 75% quality in WebP usually looks great at a fraction of the size.
Why compress images?
Large images slow down websites, fill up email attachments and can be rejected by upload forms. Compressing and resizing them can cut file size by 70 to 90% with little visible difference, which makes pages load faster and helps with search rankings.
Which format should I choose?
WebP gives the smallest files and is supported by all modern browsers, so it's ideal for websites. JPG works everywhere, including older software and printers. PNG keeps transparent backgrounds, like logos, but files are usually larger.
What quality should I use?
70 to 80% is the sweet spot for most photos. Go lower for thumbnails and previews, or higher if the image has small text or fine detail. Quality doesn't apply to PNG, so resize PNGs to make them smaller.
Will my photos lose location data?
Yes. Compressed images are redrawn from scratch, so hidden details like camera information and GPS location are removed. That's a privacy bonus when you share photos online.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your images are never uploaded or stored.
