How to use this word counter

How is reading time calculated?

Reading time uses an average of 230 words per minute. Speaking time uses 140 words per minute, a comfortable pace for speeches, presentations and video voiceovers.

How many words is a page?

About 500 words for a single-spaced page and 250 words for a double-spaced page in a 12-point font. This counter uses 500 words per page.

Is my text saved or uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. When you close the page, the text is gone.

What are the character limits for social media?

X (Twitter) posts allow 280 characters. Instagram captions allow 2,200. LinkedIn posts allow 3,000. YouTube titles allow 100 characters and descriptions 5,000. Google usually shows about 60 characters of a page title and 155 of a meta description.
